Signalpoint - Pro

The Signalpoint Pro is an intrinsically safe, cost effective, toxic and Oxygen gas detector for use in the toughest environmental conditions. A 2-wire, 4-20mA loop powered device that can be used indoors or outdoors in areas that are routinely washed or hosed down. Signalpoint Pro is designed for user friendly operation along with simplified installation and maintenance. A removable cover allows sensors to simply plug into the transmitter without having to open the main terminal housing. The gas type and default sensor range for each sensor is automatically recognised and displayed on the built-in display. Hidden push buttons provide user programmable features such as gas range and calibration gas level setting. Non intrusive, one-man calibration is initiated by a magnetically operated switch. The Quick Calibration routine, including auto-inhibit to prevent false alarms, walks the user through the process using a series of on-screen prompts to ensure right first time set-up and operation. The large terminal compartment includes a hinged cover to provide easy hands free access for wiring. When opened, fixing points are revealed providing secure hidden mounting. A pre-formed M20 clearance cable entry is provided with a second easy knockout entry if required. Signalpoint Pro is ideal for use with a range of dedicated gas monitoring controllers or industry standard PLCs. Transmitter - The robust hazardous area approved Apex transmitter housing and mounting bracket is made from 316 Stainless Steel. The sensor and transmitter is common for all gas types.

Sensor - The Apex Sensor can be mounted directly on the transmitter or remotely up to 100m away. The same sensor is used for both catalytic and electrochemical type sensor cartridges.

Smart cartridge - The sensor can be fitted with a choice of over 40 toxic gas ranges and wide range of detectable flammable gases. Each cartridge is pre-calibrated and simply plugs into the sensor. The Intrinsically Safe design allows cartridges to be changed with the unit under power. The transmitter recognises a newly fitted sensor cartridge and automatically reads all the configuration information from it.

Users can modify detector operation using the LCD and magnet switches without ever needing to open the unit. The RAEGuard 2 PID operates on 10 to 28 VDC and provides an analogue (4-20mA) three-wire signal output, and RS-485 Modbus digital signal output. Calibration and maintenance have been greatly simplified as the digital PID module can be easily removed in hazardous locations for calibration or maintenance. The RAEGuard 2 PID has a graphic display and LED light status indicator for fault and alarm conditions. In addition, Low, High, and Fault relays1 can be configured to trigger external alarms or process controls. Over 200 correction factors1 are pre-programmed and allow users to display readings of a specific target gas. A magnetic key interface enables the detector to be calibrated and operational parameters adjusted with the explosion-proof enclosure in place.

Model 705 HT Sensor

The Model 705 high temperature sensor has been specifically designed for the detection of combustible gases in high temperature hazardous area locations. Typical applications include turbine enclosures and drying ovens used in solvent based printing and coating machines. These applications require a sensor that provides reliable and stable detection allowing low level alarm settings across a wide temperature range. Utilising a specially matched pair of Sieger poison resistant combustible gas detection elements, the Model 705 High Temperature Sensor has a very stable baseline allowing alarm trip points to be set as low as 5% LEL across a temperature range of -25°C to +150°C (-3°F to +302°F). The gas measuring range can be configured from 0-20% LEL up to 0-100% LEL depending on the type of controller used. The detector elements are housed in a UL hazardous area approved explosion proof assembly, and provide an industry standard 3 wire mV bridge output which can be connected to a suitable control device or converted to an analog output signal via a field transmitter.

Users can configure the detector without the need of a ‘hot work permit’ by using the LCD and magnetic switches. Fault diagnostic software and configurable calibration intervals simplify maintenance procedures. The Intrinsically Safe smart sensors are supplied pre-configured and can be ‘hot swapped’ without having to remove power to the detector, saving time and money during commissioning and routine servicing. A remote sensor mounting kit is available that allows the sensor to be mounted up to 50’ (15m) from the transmitter, making it ideal for operation in areas that are difficult to access. The OELD includes an LCD screen for gas information, a “traffic light” indicator for at-a-glance detector status, and Bluetooth® connectivity for simplified, non-intrusive maintenance. Simply pair the OELD with our intrinsically safe, ruggedised smartphone; then use the OELD smartphone app to interact with the gas detector from up to 10 meters (30 feet) away.
